In Chinese, Fenghuang means “Phoenix,” and according to folk tales two of these mythological birds flew over this town and found it so mesmerizing that they were resistant to leave Fenghuang. The city offers a magical sight at night when the buildings are lit up and therefore a night stay is preferred. Yangshuo:
Yangshuo is a sparkling and tourist-friendly town situated in southern China’s Zhuang Autonomous region on the embankments of Li River. Gulangyu Island:
The Gulangyu island is formed from two Chinese words, “gu” meaning drum and “lang” meaning waves, so the island is called The Island of Music. It accounts for the drum-like the sound made by the tides while hitting the reef surrounding the island. The only vehicles used on the island are electric buggies and fire trucks that is why it is a pedestrian-only destination. The highest point of Gulangyu is the Sunlight rock which offers astonishing views over the coastline and island. The various styles of architecture along with narrow streets give the island a distinctive appearance.
